Resonance group meeting No 2 was held on 12th December 2018, UNIFE – CENTOFORM, Bologna, Italy

Presentation, and discussions with local experts and stakeholders during “Forum Clust-ER BUILD – Edilizia e Costruzioni”, regional Association of building experts, which involved at that time more than 17 among research centers and Universities, 5 higher education centers, industries, 2 industrial associations, associations of professionals, public administration, Emilia-Romagna Region, Emilia-Romagna High Technology Network. Today the Clust-ER BUILD association counts more than 70 associates.

Over 10 participants from local stakeholders participated on the Resonance meeting (industrial associations, other universities, VET schools, private companies, public administration etc.).

Content of the Meeting:

Meeting covered presentation of the output of the project, general assumptions and goals for the project follow up. Meeting was organised in Italian language.

Participants of the meeting discussed about the project aim and core competences of diagnosis expert in relationship with the regional and national context. All participants agreed about the necessity to update both regional and national qualification framework in order to involve knowledge, skills and competencies of a “Diagnosis expert”.

Medium and long term fallout:

Moreover, all the participants agreed about the need to support new training paths and competencies updating in the field of diagnosis for existing buildings interventions with particular reference to a risk management to existing buildings and cultural heritage. Definitely, after the Emilia-Romagna earthquake in 2012 Public Administration and technicians were asked to develop, from both a regulatory to technical point of view, specific protocols for survey, diagnosis and intervention in order to evaluate seismic risk on existing buildings. Consequently, it became more urgent to update competencies in the field of diagnosis, in order to understand the existing seismic risk and to evaluate possible strategies to reduce it. However, it is still possible to verify at local and national level a lack of assessment tools and adequate compulsory framework in order to manage, from a risk management point of view, the existing buildings asset.

Participants suggested to share the results of the DIAGNOSIS project within the partnership of other founded projects, which involves UNIFE and RER, such as for example the INTERREG project BhENEFIT Energy and Environmental – Friendly Integrated Tools for the sustainable management of Historic Urban Areas (2017-2019), which aims at improving the management of historic built areas, combining the daily maintenance of historic heritage with its preservation and valorisation in a sustainable way.

Participants were also asked to fill the questionnaires under the given addresses:
